Allision in Lovund
On the afternoon of Nov 20, 2024, the 'Key West' sailed straight into the quay, while manoevering to drop off at the port of Lovund (Lat. 66.3653, Lng. 12.3765) at around 2.10 p.m. UTC. The ship hit the quay with its port side and destroyed parts of it. The ship continued on its way to Myre-Oksnes with an ETA as of Nov 21.
Grounding near Kyleakin
The 'Key West', en route from Ghent to Kyleakin, with a crew of 13 on board, ran aground near Kyleakin in position 57 16 40 N, 005 45 16 W, on Sep 15, 2019, at 02.45 a.m. The tanker was carrying 1500 tonnes of fish oil, 593 metric tonnes of linseed oil and 6868 metric tonnes of oil feed as cargo. The master waited for the high tide to refloat the vessel which was floating again at 03.45 a. and berthed at the pier in Kyleakin near Kyle of Lochalsh at 6.25 a.m.
