Vessel in Dardanelles refloated
The "Kemal Kuru" which had rund aground 0,4 miles north of Cape Çankaya on Sep 19 after did not respond to warnings of the Vessel Traffic Center. The "Kiyi Emiyeti 6" and the "Kurtama 3" were sent to the grounding site in the Dardanelles. At 4.55 p.m. the ship with its crew of 14 was was refloated and able to proceed with own power. Aground in Dardanelles
Turkish freighter Kemal Kuru ran aground at around 03:37 LT Sep 19 2012 in Dardanelles proceeding in southern direction. Vessel Traffic Control saw the vessel was proceeding to hazard, but all attempts to contact Kemal Kuru failed. Vessel is aground 0.4 miles north of Gallipoli Cankaya. No leak reported.
