Grounded barge refloated
On Sep 27 the "Ilaria" could be refloated from the grounding site near Winzer in the Deggendorf municipality after she was lightered by the "Raphaela". Lightering of the 850 tons quartz sand started in the early morning, but subsequent salvage attempts failed repeatedly. Only in the afternoon the barge could be pulled off and meanwhile continued the voyage to Regensburg. A shallow that had built up at the grounding site had to be removed.
