Fire in Makhachala port
On Jan 14, 2020, the captain’s cabin of the 'Kasra-1' caught fire at berth No. 1 in the Makhachkala port, Dagestan. The fire spread over five by seven meters. Firefighters of the Ministry of Emergencies, a fire fighting tug and employees of the Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port managed to keep the fire from spreading and finally put it out. Freighter remains aground
The "Kasra 1" remained aground on Makhachkala Roads on Dec 6. On Dec 4, the tug "Favorit" had conducted works to refloat the vessel, but the operations were then suspended, due to bad weather. The Russian tug "Epron" was standing by at the port of Makhachkala to assist if required. The ship was refloated and proceeded to the port of Makhachkala on Dec 7.
Cargo ship dragged anchor
The "Kasra 1" dragged anchor in the night of Nov 30, 2018, and started to drift towards the shore at Makhachkala port, Dagestan. The drift was stopped by dropping the second anchor. The ship reported to be more or less stable, while the tug "Epron" was set on standby at Makhachkala port, ready to assist. The "Kasra 1" was moored 3.2 cables from the shoreline, with 2.5 metres of water below the keel. The cargo ship had arrived at Makhachkala Anchorage on Nov 26, coming from Aktau in Kazakhstan.
