Fonneland helped to save distressed yacht crew
The MRCC Valencia received the Mayday call of a yacht in the night of June 13, 2013, which was about to sink about 30 nautical miles off the coast of Valencia. The crew fled into a liferaft. A helicopter was sent out, but in the meantime, the "Fonneland" which was nearby was instructed to assist the casualty. It had just left the port of Castello de la Plana and picked up the sailors. The yacht crew later was hosted aboard the helicopter and flown to Manises airport where they were met by family. No one was injured or needed medical help.
