Collision off Japan
The Bahamas flagged container m/v "Triumph" was in collision with the "Kaisei Maru" at the entrance of Bisan Seto South Traffic Route to Mizushima Traffic Route on April 20, 2019, at 4.30 a.m. Both vessels were investigated by the Japanese Coastguard at Sakaide. The "Triumph" sailed again on April 23 at 5.20 p.m., bound to Hiroshima. The "Kaisei Maru" sailed on April 22 at 2.45 p.m. and moored on Tokyo Anchorage on April 24 in pos. 35° 28.64' N 139° 54.26' E.
Kaisei maru collides with Sumise Maru No. 38
9560431The Japan-flagged cement carrier Sumise Maru No. 38 (IMO: 9054200) that collided with Japan-flagged chemical tanker Kaisei Maru (IMO: 9560431) off Himeji, Japan on Wednesday sank three hours after the incident.
