Engine failure at Drepanon
The 'K. Dadayli' suffered an engine failure at Drepanon on Nov 3, 2019. After repair attempts by the crew failed, the tug 'Apollon' was been appointed in order to tow the vessel to Izmir . Upon completion of towage approval formalities, the towing operation commenced on Nov 8. The ship arrived off Izmir on Nov 10 and dropped anchor in pos. 38° 25.59' N 027° 6.24' E. It entered the Alaybey shipyard on Nov 13, upon completion of arrival and custom formalities. A detailed damage survey was carried out by the classification society surveyors from RINA. The vessel's class status has been suspended until completion of permanent repairs and the following sea trials. The repairs are underway after new sets of spare parts have been provided by the owner of the vessel.
Broken fuel injector
The "K. Dadayli", enrout from Ijmuiden to Plymouth in ballast, suffered a broken fuel injector in pos. 51 14N, 01 42E on Feb 15, 2018, while transiting the south-west Dover TSS. Attempts to fix the damage were underway on Feb 16.
Vessel disabled in the Bosporus
On Nov 16, 2016, at 10.56 p.m. the "K. Dadayli" suffered engine failure transiting the Bosporus in northbound direction enroute from Mersin to Varna shortly after passing the second Bosporus Bridge. The Instanbul Vessel Traffic Service immediately dispatched the tug "Kurtarma 3" and the "Kiyem 3" to assist. The unloaded ship with its crew of 12 was taken in tow and safely moored off Büyükdere at 12.35 a.m. She berthed at Tuzla on Nov 18 around 4 a.m., remaining there since.
