Jumbo transports minehunters for french navy

Thu Jul 09 09:31:04 CEST 2015 arnekiel

At the beginning of 2015 MV Jumbo Jubilee transported two 600t minehunters from Brest, France to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In June 2015 MV Jumbo Jubilee returned both vessels to their Naval Base in France. The minehunters took part in a joint naval exercise between the French and UAE navy in the Arabian Gulf. Marfret’s special projects department SMIS contracted Jumbo to transport this delicate and valuable property of the French Navy. Unique design enables Jumbo Jubilee to transport caissons for LNG hub in Australia

Wed May 23 17:13:33 CEST 2012 Timsen

The "Jumbo Jubilee" is involved in the construction of an LNG export hub on Barrow Island. The Gorgon Field is one of the largest gas fields on the planet. A key component of this new export facility will be the Materials Offload Facility, consisting of wharves and craft landing facilities. Creating the base of the facility are 25 massive caissons, built in Malaysia. Contracted by transport and logistics firm DB Schenker, on behalf of the Saipem Leighton Consortium, the "Jumbo Jubilee" is transporting the caissons from Port Klang, Malaysia to Barrow Island, Australia. At Barrow Island, the "Jumbo Jubilee" will use anchor points and mooring lines to keep the vessel in position while discharging the caissons. The enormous hold capacity makes it possible to make optimum use of the capacity and transport seven MOF caissons at once while maintaining a minimum ship draught.
