Barge allided with bridge pillar in Nijmegen
On June 22, 2016, the "Julien", 2821 ts (EU-No.: 02320761), allided with the pillar of the bridge over the river Waal at Nijmegen. The barge had suffered rudder failure before and and was adrift. It was enroute with a cargo of coal to a German port. Trainswere allowed to pass the railway bridge with a very low Speed. Ship traffic was not disrupted. After the ship was freed, it berthed in the port of Nijmegen at 6.30 p.m. On June 23 at 4 a.m. it resumed its voyage to Weurt and passed Tolkamer on the Rhine around 6 a.m. Rijkswaterstaat was still investigating the accident. Collision on Weser-Datteln-Canal
In the evening of Feb 13, 2013, the tank barge "Schloss Schönbrunn" was in collision with the "Julien" on the Wesel-Datteln-Canal at Dorsten. The empty tank barge was underway to the Rhine when it smashed head on into the coal carrying "Julien". Both ships also hit with their sterns. They moored at the shore afterwards, while the fire Brigade Dorsten and the Police attended. The "Schloss Schönrunn" was breached and lost a small amount of diesel fuel. The "Julien“ was on ist first trip following a Yard stay of more than one month. The damage was assessed to be around 40000 Euro.
