Petition to let ship with cattle dock in port
A petition to allow the "Julia Ak" to dock in Spain has gained thousands of signatures, after fears food for cattle could run out. Susan Weeding, co-owner of the Easy Care Horse Rescue Centre near Torrevieja, launched a petition to try and save 3.800 cattle onboard the ship which had sailed from Rio Grande on Aug 4, 2019, bound to Derince. It was due to dock in Cartagena on Aug 25 to pick up food for the 5,500 young cows. However, the ship was involved in a legal wrangle and has not been allowed to dock.
