Bottom touch damaged propeller

Mon Mar 10 16:16:14 CET 2025 Timsen

On March 10, 2025, the ' Johanna Josephine' berthed in the port of Eckernförde after the propeller was bent in a bottom touch during dredging work near Aschau. Probably it hit a stone. The propulsion unit was pulled out with a mobile crane for repairs. It was hoped that the ship could continue the deepening of the fairway on March 12. Dredger sank off Wilhelmshaven

Thu Nov 20 12:47:29 CET 2014 Timsen

In the morning of Nov 19, 2014, the "Johanna Josephine" ran onto a submerged sheet piling of the cooling water outlet of the GDF Suez power plant in Wilhelmshaven and was hooked. The vessel which was about to unload a cargo of stones there in the morning hours was breached and started sinking. The DGzRS-lifeboat "Vormann Steffens" and the "W 5" of the Water Police were quickly on the spot. Finally only the deck excavator "Liebherr R 964 C Litronic" and the rear were showing above the water. A small amount of water was spilt into the Jade. The cargo was now to be lightered and the leak sealed by divers. After the ship was refloated, it was moved to the New Jade Yard in Wilhelmshaven.
