The "Uno" seems to have grounded due to a navigational mistake and not in order to avoid a collision with boats participating in the Thurø-Tåsinge-Yacht-Race of the Thurø Sailing Club. The ship was said to have approached the sound with too much speed and then having turned directly towards the port instead of turning to starboard first. The skipper of the "Uno" refused to comment. The "Uno" mwanwhile started to discharge its cargo of soy at the quay at Svendborg at 7 a.m. on June 29, two hours after having entered the port. Meanwhile the ship's bottom was surveyed, and the diver found no leaks, so it is expected that the ship may leave soon.

In the evening of June 28 a high tide helped to refloat the "Uno" without tug assistance. The ship then pulled into port with its cargo of 1600 tons soy, where investigations were started and oil samples taken by the navy as possible evidence.
