Medevac off Pointe Saint-Mathieu

Fri Jan 14 13:06:47 CET 2022 Timsen

A crew member of the 'Jif-Surveyor' was medevaced by a Dragon 29 elicopter in the night of Jan 13, 2022. The ship had arrived in Brest on Jan 12, carrying out a search mission for containers lost at sea during recent gales, near the Ouessant Traffic Zone. On Jan 13 around 10 p.m., a 32-year-old French crew member fell ill, while the ship was about 25 miles west of Pointe Saint-Mathieu. The CROSS Corsen deployed a Civil Security Dragon 29 helicopter. After taking off from Quimper around 0:35 a.m., it embarked a medical team in Brest. The sailor was airlifted aboard the helicopter shortly after 1:30 a.m., and was taken to Cavale-Blanche hospital at 2 a.m. for further care.
