Medevac off Bermuda
The "Apollon diverted to Bermuda on Jan 26, 2016, after a 26-year-old crew member started suffering from suspected appendicitis. The BMOC initially received a call from the vessel on Jan 20 wover 1000 nm east-southeast of Bermuda, with the vessel reportedly battling heavy seas over the last few days. The Filipino national was reported to be in a stable condition following medical advice from shore and was being constantly monitored by crew on board. The "Apollon" arrived off the East End at 10:30 p.m. The patient will be taken ashore by the Marine & Ports pilot boat "St. George" and transferred to Ordnance Island. Once the transfer was complete the bulkcarrier resumed its original voyage from Gibraltar to New Orleans. Report with photo and video: http://bernews.com/2016/01/mv-apollon-inbound-bermuda-medico/
