Tanker towed to Rotterdam after fire on board
In the afternoon of Oct 7, 2015, the "Avant 20" was towing the "NR Arkhangelsk" from the south anchorage off Hoek van Holland to the Waal Port in Rotterdam following a fire aboard as a dead ship, with the stern tug "Fairplay 24". The ship originally had sailed from Rotterdam on Sep 20. The tanker left the port again after repairs on Nov 6 at 3 p.m. and dropped anchor on Steenbank Anchorage. Medevaco off the Dutch coast
On July 27 at 12 at noon the KNRM-lifeboat "Koopmansdank" of the rescue station Neeltje Jans was called for a medevac from the "Arkhangelsk" in the Northsea 16 miles NW of the station. The ship was lying at Steenbank Anchorage after one crew member fealt pain in his breast. The Coast Guard Center Den Helder had contacted the Radio Medical Service of the KNRM, and it was decided to take the man ashore. The man was quickly transferred abord the "Koopmansdank" and later taken to hospital by ana ambulance.
