Wed Jul 31 12:23:31 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Jean Ribault" was lifted out of the water on July 30, 2019. and a damage assessment was completed. It was estimated the repair work would take two weeks to complete. On July 25 the ferry suffered damage when a submerged rope got tangled in the propeller in Fort George. An initial inspection conducted by the JTA and the U.S. Coast Guard, confirmed that the propeller shaft sustained damage that will require repairs before it can be returned to service. Another, more thorough inspection of the damage was scheduled for July 31.
