New German six ship LPG tanker series nears completion
A series of six 5,000m3 next-generation LPG tankers is nearing completion in China for Hartmann Reederei – the second German owner to expand its fleet of gas tankers in recent months. Four of the 99.9m loa, 17.4m wide, Tiger class tankers – JS CAESAR, JS CHUKAR, JS ALULAR and JS JAGUAR - have already been delivered for service with Hartmann subsidiary GasChem Services in Hamburg. The remaining two 4,900dwt, fully-pressurised ships – JS LEKVAR and JS OCULAR – are being finished off for delivery in January by the Chinese shipyard group Sinopacific Shipbuilding.
