Technical trouble sidelined ferry
The "Iver Aasen" suffered technical problems on Aug 3, 2015, so that the ferry service from Sølsnes to Åfarnes was suspended for repairs in Sølsnes. Ferry disabled and taken in tow
On July 10, 2014, the ferry "Julsundet" took the "Ivar Aasen", which had suffered an engine failure, in tow, so that the ferry service Sølsnes - Åfarnes had to be suspended during that time. It was reopend with the one remaining ferry at 6 p.m. The "Ivar Aasen" had been disabled in the middle of the Fjord around 4 p.m. At 7.20 p.m. the ferry headed for Bolsønes with own power for investigations. Ferry stuck in the middle of the fjord between Ørsnes and Magerholm
On Apr 29, 2013, the "Ivar Aasen" had to be taken out of the ferry service between Ørsnes and Magerholm after it went adrift in the fjord due to technical trouble at 7 a.m. The ship was stuck in middle of the fjord for about half an hour before it managed to dock at Ørsnes quay where the 60 passengers on board could go ashore. At 09.30 ferry service on the busy route between Møre and Romsdal was back to normal with two ferries.
