Ferry grounded in mist
On Aug 17, 2016, at 7 a.m. the "Insula Oya 2", 495 gt (IMO: 8956827), sailing between Fromentine and Yeu, ran aground at Vendée in the channel of Fromentine. The bow hit the tip of a sandbar in a stubborn mist, and the ship then was pivoted by the outgoing current which poured from the Bay of Bourgneuf. The two passengers on board were transferred to the mainland with a lifeboat from Fromentine, refloating operations by the SNSM boats from La Barre de Monts and the Ile d'Yeu started with the turn of the tide at 2 p.m. French reports with photos and video: http://www.ouest-france.fr/pays-de-la-loire/saint-gilles-croix-de-vie-85800/le-caboteur-insula-oya-2-echoue-fromentine-4422230 http://france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr/pays-de-la-loire/vendee/ile-d-yeu/ile-d-yeu-un-bateau-de-ravitaillement-echoue-sur-un-banc-de-sable-alors-qu-il-ralliait-fromentine-1067263.html http://www.lecourriervendeen.fr/2016/08/17/l-insula-oya-ii-echoue-sur-la-plage/
