Engine failure in Brunsbüttel

Tue Dec 17 08:54:40 CET 2024 Timsen

On Dec 17, 2024, at 12.24 a.m. the "Ina Lehmann", en route from Rodham to Västeras, suffered an engine failure when entering the new southern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel and drifted perpendicular to the fairway. The nearby tug "Fairplay-XV", which had just assisted the cargo m/v "Elbinsel" into the lock, was soon on scene. The "Ina Lehmann" was pulled to the railway station pilings in the canal port of Brunsbüttel for investigations and repairs.
