Celia auctioned in Bremen

Thu Feb 06 10:10:22 CET 2014 Timsen

On Feb 5, 2014, the "Nadja" was auctioned at the court in Bremen. There was only one bid for each the "Celia", "Julietta", "Nadja" and "Angelika" by the MarConsult Schiffahrt-Group in Hamburg which paid 5,5 million Euros for two of the ships and eight million Euros for two other. All vessels had been laid up in the Neustädter Port in Bremen since half a year. German reports with photos and video: http://www.radiobremen.de/politik/nachrichten/schiffe-versteigert100.html http://www.weser-kurier.de/bremen/wirtschaft2_artikel,-Frachter-zwangsversteigert-_arid,772453.html

Grounded ships left Valencia

Tue Nov 27 09:53:28 CET 2012 Timsen

The "Celia" left the port of Valencia in the afternoon of Nov 20, almost four weeks after having been pulled off the beach there, being bound for Ceuta where it was expected in the morning of Nov 27. Also the Singapore flagged bulkcarrier "BSLE Sunrise" (IMO: 9017628) has left the port, it sailed already on Nov 19. The ship docked in Antwerp from the morning of Nov 26 until the morning of Nov 27 before proceeding further to Klaipeda where it is expected in the evening Nov 30. To cope with the costs of the regeneration of the beach, the work on which was continuing, the owners of the "BSLE Sunrise" had to pay a bank deposit of 423,500 Euro, while those of the "Celia" paid a guarantee of 193,600 Euro to the Dirección General de Costas. Furthermore the "BSLE Sunrise" had to deposit a guarantee of 100,000 Euros to cover potential tax liabilities arising from the accident.

Celia at container terminal, oil spill at grounding site

Fri Oct 26 10:55:46 CEST 2012 Timsen

The "Celia" will remain docked at the port of Valencia until the completion of investigation which will determine whether there was any negligence in the grounding. The ship was berthed at the Costa container terminal in the Port of Valencia. Meanwhile an oil spill was observed in the vicinity of the beach where rescue operations were continuing at the "BSLE Sunrise", which remained trapped in the sand in front of the Hotel Sidi Saler. The small entity was detected at noon by the Helimer-helicopter which must not have been related to one of the ships. One of the Maritime Rescue vessels collected samples of the oil to find out the origin.
