Captain who died on board was tested positive for COVID 19
The 'Tertnes' asked for medical assistance northwest of Stavanger on Feb 24, 2021, enroute from Gulen to Dover. A helicopter transferred two medics on board to assist the patient, the captain of the ship, but he died. The ship was diverted to Stavanger where it arrived on Feb 25. The body of the captain was tested positive for the coronavirus post mortem. All 18 Filipino crew members were tested twice since the arrival, and seven of them were tested positive too, showing no symptoms. The crew was isolated on board and quarantined. The medics who boarded the ship were also under quarantine. Pilots who boarded the ship the last six times were also quarantined. The ship remained stationary in Mekjarvik as of Feb 27.
