Allision off Tanjung Buyut

Thu Oct 03 13:15:35 CEST 2024 Timsen

On Oct 3, 2024, the 'Ibrahim Zaher' was struck by the barge 'Nautica 13', which was towed by the tug 'Alpine Marine 13', in the waters of Tanjung Buyut at 02:20 la.m. LT. The bulk carrier was anchored near Tanjung Buyut, when due to strong currents the tug lost control while trying to avoid the anchored tanker 'Seroja XI' in the same area. The 'Nautica 13' which was underway for a Ship to Ship Transfer (STS) operation, grazed the bow of the 'Ibrahim Zahier', which suffered a leak. The barge suffered a leak on its port side , causing it to list 30 degrees. Both ships remained anchored in front of Tanjung Buyut and were not obstructing navigation in the area. The authorities were coordinating further actions to ensure no further impact arised from the incident.
