Assistance for listing cargo ship
In the evening of March 14, 2017, the police was notified about the "Nyksund", serving the route Stavanger-Tromsø, listing in the Silda Gap at Selje in severe storm. The ship headed to Stadhavet. At 11.30 p.m. seas started washing over the side, and part of the cargo shifted. The list was 15-20 degrees now. Wave heights on site were six to ten meters. The crew of six managed to regain control within half an hour by pumping of ballast water. The lifeboat "Simrad Buholmen" from Måløy assisted as well as a Sea King from Florø. The "Nyksund" proceeded to Måløy where she safely berthed on March 15 at 00.30 a.m. She left the port again at 10.45 a.m. and headed to Eggesbønes, arriving there at 4 p.m., before proceeding to Trondheim, where she berthed on March 16 at 9 a.m. Norwegian report with photo: https://www.nrk.no/sognogfjordane/slik-lag-ms-nyksund-og-dreiv-pa-bolgene-pa-stadhavet-i-natt-1.13427147
