Trawler under repair at Torshavn

The "Hoyvik" was towed to Fuglafjordur, Faroe Islands, by the "Brimil". In port its cargo of 1500 metric tonnes of mackerel was discharged. Upon completion of discharging, the vessel was towed to Torshavn, where it arrived on Jan 11 at 7.20 p.m. and the shipyard Mest started to repair its main engine. The ship sailed from Thorshavn on Feb 13.

Trawler taken in tow after engine breakdown

The "Hoyvik", while en route from Torshavn, reported one piston and cylinder in its main engine broken, in position lat 59 41 00N, long 004 44 00W, on Jan 7, 2018, at 8.58 p.m. The vessel was taken in tow by the Coastguard vessel "Brimil" to Torshavn. The initiated SAR operations have been terminated. The convoy was moving at a speed of 5.3 knots, course 331.2 deg, 74,16 nautical miles from the port of Vagur, Faroe Islands, in position lat 60 35 11.72N, long 005 00 37.51W, on Jan 7 at 10.45 p.m.

Grounding off Finnsnes

The "Østanger" ran onto a sand bar in Gisundet off Finnsnes in the morning of Mar 14, 2012. Around midday the crew pumped out water ballast in order to make the ship easier and to get it off the grounding site. Norwegian report with photo: http://www.folkebladet.no/nyheter/article531221.ece
