Collision off Honshu Island
The Korean flagged sand carrier "Shinto Maru", 1530 dwt (IMO: 7648461), was in collision with the "Hoshin Maru" on July 31, 2015, around 1 a.m. about seven miles east of Isumi, Chiba, off the eastern coast of Honshu Island. The accident happened in dense fog. Both vessels suffered slight damages and were allowed to continue their voyages.
