Medevac off Dauphin Island

Wed Oct 04 10:16:01 CEST 2023 Timsen

The US Coast Guard medevaced a 50-year-old man from the 'HOS Warland' approximately 80 miles offshore Dauphin Island, Alabama, on Oct 2, 2023. Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders received a call at approximately 2:17 p.m. from the captain of the vessel, requesting assistance to medevac a crewmember experiencing heart-attack-like symptoms. Watchstanders then coordinated the launches of a Coast Guard Aviation Training Center HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew and a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew to assist. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, landed on the vessel, brought the man aboard the helicopter and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the University Medical Center in New Orleans. He was last reported to be in stable condition. Report with video: https://www.news.uscg.mil/Press-Releases/Article/3545675/coast-guard-medevacs-man-offshore-dauphin-island-ala/
