Medevac off Cape Prior

A crew member of the "Horizon Geobay" was medevaced on Aug 15, 2021, due to a health problem, when the ship was about 200 miles northwest of Cape Prior. The British MRCC contactedSalvamento Marítimo and requested the the urgent transfer of the patient. A rendezvous point was established 200 miles away with the heliicopter Helimer 401 and a “Sasema 102 aircraft, based at the Lavacolla Airport. THe SAR helicopter took off at around 6:00 p.m. from the Alvedro Airport, in A Coruñ and arrived at the position at around 8:00 p.m. After the patient was hoisted,it returned to the airport at 9:20 p.m., where an ambulance from Urxencias Sanitarias de Galicia-061 was waiting for the man to be transferred to the A Coruña University Hospital Complex (CHUAC), where he was admitted.
