Offshore vessel laid up
Island Offshore on Mar 9, 2016, has decided to lay up the "Island Dragon" and "Iceland Duchess". The "Island Dragon" had a contract with Lundin Norway since summer 2014 and was replaced by the "Island Commander". The reason was the need of the oil company for a vessel with a larger deck area. The "Island Dragon" berthed in Stavanger on Mar 9. The "Island Duchess" has a time charter in Las Palmas for missions off Africa. The lack of work led to the decision of Island Offshore to lay up the ship in Ulsteinvik.
Island Offshore takes delivery of Island Dragon
Island Offshore has taken delivery of Island Dragon today.This is the fourth Platform Supply Vessel in under a year, delivered to Island Offshore from the Vard Brevik yard, the company said in its press release. The vessel is a UT 717 CD, designed by Rolls-Royce and equipped for firefighting and Standby Rescue. The overall length is 84.65 metres, with a breadth of 17 metres and a deck area of 800m2. The vessel has been awarded a contract with Lundin Norway for operation in the Edvard Grieg field, more specifically 12 wells in total, starting this autumn
