Historic tug ran aground
The "Holland" ran aground on the Terschellinger Ground west of Terschelling on its way back from the port Party in Hamburg to Harlingen when it got stuck around 11:00 a.m. It was almost high Tide. The ship was stable and the crew safe. The tugs "Hurricane" and "Hunter" of Noordgat in Terschelling were made ready to undertake a salvage attempt in the evening. The tug was smoothly refloated by the "Hunter" with the rising tide around 10 p.m. and berthed in Harlingen on May 10 at 00.30.
Fire in generator soon contained
On Feb 22, 2013, at 8.30 p.m. the fire brigade Harlingen was alarmed after a generator on the main deck of the "Holland", which was berthed in port, had caught fire. The fire was under control within 45 minutes, and damage remained limited.
