Oil spilt in port of Novorossiysk from tanker Hercules

On January 30, 2012, at 9:03, in the course of the bunkering operation carried out at berth No 8 of Novorossiysk port heavy fuel oil spilt on the deck of vessel Hercules (flag of Belize, operated by Alfamarin Shipping Ltd). Part of oil product spilt into the sea, press center of NMTP Group reports. The majority of oil products – some 200 kg – is on the vessel. The spilt was localized near the vessel. Spilt oil products were collected by oil garbage collectors and emergency rescue teams of NMTP OJSC and NMTP Fleet OJSC. Some 5 kg of oil products were collected in the port’s water area. The cause of the accident will be investigated in the nearest future.
