Broken up after fire

The "Hellevik", 1957 gt (IMO: 7431650) has been broken up in Fredericia since January 2016. The ship had suffered a fire at the Gothenius Yard in Gothenburg on Sep 28, 2015, due to a fuel leak during a test start of the engine which was followed by a flashover. Firefighters extinguished the fire and ventilated the engine room, but the ship was no longer seaworthy and a repair not worthwhile.

In the evening of Sep 28, 2015, at 8 p.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Hellewik" at the Gothenius Yard in Gothenburg. Flames came out of the smokestack after a fuel leak during a test start of the engine which was followed by a flashover. All personnel on board were evacuated, firefighters extinguished the fire and ventilated the engine room, but it was still very hot afterwards so they kept monitoring the space. One person has been taken to hospital.
