Sun Oct 13 20:11:30 CEST 2019 Timsen

On Oct 11, 2019, at at 9.45 a.m. a man fell into the cargo hold of the 'Helena Schepers' which was berthed in the Europa Port in Rotterdam. Thanks to good cooperation with all the services involved, the patient was able to reach the hospitalby ambulance at 11 a.m. After co-alarmed ambulance officers were reached the port it took them 10 minutes to the moored ship. With the help of an RPA vessel and a pilot ladder they got on board. Two ambulance employees and three members of the KNRM boat 'Jeanine Parqui' boarded the ship for assistance and the transport of necessary medical equipment. The victim had suffered various fractures and bruises. The Hoek rescuers helped prepare the stretcher, before the patient was taken on board the lifeboat via a ship's crane. At 11 a.m. the lifeboat was moored again and the patient en route to the hospital. The container ship left Rotterdam again on Oct 13, bound to Leixoes.
