Leak in engine room

The 'HC Melina' en route from Antwerp to Pemba with 14 crew members on board suffered a small leak in the main engine in position lat 50 26 00 N, 000 25 00 W on Dec 15, 2019. The vessel was carrying 5.952 tonnes of steel construction. It exited the main shipping channel northwards. After the crew completed repairs the ship resumed its voyage at 08.30 a.m.

Vietnamese built container ship handed over to German owner

The Ben Kien Shipbuilding Industry Company in Hai Phong on July 15 handed over a multipurpose container ship named HC Melina to Hanse Capital Group of Germany . HC Melina, coded RSBK 02, is the second of a series of 9,200- tonne ships that the company built for its foreign partners. The 129.4m long and 17m wide ship with a speed of 14.7 sea miles/hour was designed by the Inec Company of Netherlands , and inspected and gradated by Bureau Veritas (BV) Register of Shipping of France.
