Water ingress off Cape de la Hève
On Mar 26, 2012, around 2 a.m., the "HBC Performer" enroute from Scotland to Denmark informed the Regional Operational Centre for Surveillance and Rescue (CROSS) about a leak at the forepeak. The CROSS Joburg coordinated the assistance for the ship which was 47 nautical miles northwest of Cape de la Hève. The MRCC broadcast a PAN and sent a Dauphin helicopter from the Navy with a dewatering pump. Responding to the PAN,the ferries "Mont Saint Michel" and "Norman Voyager" went to assist the ship. Around 2:30, the "HBC Performer" crew was able to control the flooding. The helicopter of the Navy was withdrawn, but the SNS lifeboat "President Pierre Huby" proceeded from Le Havre. The "Norman Voyager" resumed its original course. The "HBC Performer" was escorted by the lifeboat to Le Havre where it berthed at 11 a.m.
