The "Ostenau" was allowed to continue its voyage after the end of investigations and reached its destination Klaipeda coming from Roenne on Aug 17 at 4.50 p.m. The captain was fined with 10.000 Danish crowns for having tried to hide the grounding off Dueodde on Aug 15 from the Danish authorities. The owner, Strahlmann in Marne, has to pay further 40000 Danish crowns. Furhtermore he has to bear the costs for the diver survey and following repairs to the slight damage to the ship's bottom and the delay caused by this.

On Aug 16 at 5 a.m. the "Ostenau" sailed under own power for the port of Rønne for further investigations. The ship which has a crew of 7 is to be surveyed by divers there before it will be declared seaworthy and may sail on to Klaipeda. It is not expected that the hull has suffered significant damage as the ship had got stock on sandy bottom six miles off Dueodde. Furthermore there are investigations by the Bornholm police against the captain for not having reported the incident in time.

on Aug 14, 2010, short before midnight, the "Ostenau" ran aground off Dueodde after having encountered engine problems. Also there was the suspect of a negligence of the outlook. The ship was able to refloat with own power and anchored off Dueodde for investigation. The police proceeded to the ship aboard the rescue boat "Leopold Rosenfeld" and drug tested the crew with negative results. For safety reasons the anti pollution vessel "Marie Miljø" proceeded to the vessel and was expected on scene on Aug 15 by 8 p.m. The same day the hull was to be surveyed by divers before the ship would be allowed from Klaipeda to Bornholm.
