Sun Dec 04 12:43:32 CET 2016 Timsen

On Dec 4, 2016, the "Hanni" ran aground on the Elbe off the Mühlenberger Hole west of the Airbus works. The ship had sailed from the container terminal Waltershof at 6.30 a.m. Between Blankenese and Finkenwerder the ship suffered engine failure and crossed the fairway out of control through the ship traffic, which was approaching from the Northsea, before getting stuck on the South side of the Elbe. An inital attempt to get off again with tug assistance failed. The "WS 35" of the water police secured the accident site, the "Deepenschriewer 1" sounded the river bottom, and the fire boat "Repsold" and the tug "Bugsier 22" attended. The next refloating atteempt was undertaken with the hight tide in the afternoon. The "Hanni" was refloated short before 7 p.m. by four tugs after two failed attempts. She berthed at warehouse 76-77 in the Ellerholz Port in Hamburg at 7.40 p.m. The ship was coming from Hamburg and bound to Bremerhaven.
