Search for man lost over board has ended
South of Songvår in Søgne to south of Oksøy in Kristiansand an SAR operation was launched for a crew member of the "Comabar" which was lost over board on July 8, 2015, six miles off the coast. At 9 p.m. the search was concluded as there was no longer hope to find the missing man alive. Sea King helicopters from Sola and Rygge had participated in the search as well as five lifeboats from Mandal, Kristiansand and Arendal, a pilot boat, the coastguard vessel "Ålesund" and four to five private boats. The search was started close to the coastline but moved south because the currents in the area are running southwards. The 20 year old Norwegian was last seen at 08.10 a.m. south of Songvår in Søgne. No one has remarked that he has fallen into the sea, but a search on board was in vain. The ship berthed at Kristiansand at 10 p.m.
