Ship sailed again after collision with 13 ships with four missing people

On Oct 11 at 11.35 a.m. the “Guo Yuan 1” arrived at Yizheng and sailed again on Oct 14 at 11.20 p.m. The ship, loaded with 54230 metric tonnes of coal, had been in collision with 13 vessels near No. 109 buoy on the Yangtze River while approaching the Dingyizhou Anchorage on Oct 9 at 6.10 p.m. Three vessels, the “Susuhuo 1528”, “Susuhuo 1526” and “Haixiang 16”, had sunk, and about four vessel suffered damages. Four people went missing. The “Guo Yuan 1” suffered slight damages and was arranged for load shedding. The cause of damage was investigated by the MSA.

Bulkcarrier sank and damaged ships on Yangtze

On Oct 9, 2018, at 610 p.m. the "Guo Yuan 1" was in collision with several anchored inland ships at Dingjiang anchorage on the Yangtze river, upstream from Zhenjiang, while proceeding upstream. Three of the ships sank and four more were damaged. Nine people fell into water. Five of them were found and rescued, four other remained missing. An SAR operation was under way. The bulkcarrier was moored near the accident site.
