Trawler adrift in Norwegian Sea

Mon Jun 11 09:35:21 CEST 2018 Timsen

On June 10, 2018, the "Guldrangur" was disabled 35 miles SW of Bear Island while fishing in the Norwegian Sea after a rope had fouled the propeller. The Russian tug "Kapitan Beklemishev" (IMO: 8724080) was called from Murmansk short past noon to assist after attempts by the crew to remove the obstruction had failed. The Russian fishing vessels "Arkhangelsk" (IMO: 9241059) and "Melkart-2" (IMO: 8701959) went on standby near the casualty for safety reasons. On June 11 the "Guldrangur" was adrift in pos. 74° 10.75' N 016° 19.79' E with 1,1 knots. The ship was taken in tow on June 12, bound Murmansk. It arrived at Kirkenes on June 15 and sailed on June 20 at 6.20 p.m.
