Single hand sailor rescued off Valle Gran Rey

On Jan 8, 2025, the 'Guardamar Polimnia' has rescued the sole crew member of the French-flagged sailing yacht 'Black Pearl', hompoorted in St. Nazaire, which had suffered a leak and was sinking about eight nautical miles off Valle Gran Rey, GranCanaria. The castaway was transferred aboard the SAR ship in a liferaft and was subsequently taken to the port of Valle Gran Rey safe and sound. 440 migrants aboard nine boats assisted, one died

On the night of Dec 26 until the morning of Dec 27, the CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo has coordinated the assistance to seven cayucos. 244 people have disembarked in La Restinga. Another five people were hoisted aoard the helicopter Helimer 204 andtaken to the El Hierro airport, of whom one died. 63 migrants disembarked in the port of Los Cristianos. The 'Salvamar Adhara', 'Salvamar Acrux' and 'Salvamar Alpheratz' as well as the 'Guardamar Polimnia' were involved in the SAR operation. 194 migrants assisted to La Restinga

On the morning of Dec 15, the 'Salvamar Acrux' assisted the 117 occupants of two cayucos which had been sighted 96 nautical milessouth of La Restinga by a rower who was participating in an oceanic regatta. The migrants were disembarks in La Restinga (El Hierro). The response was coordinated by the controllers of the CCS Tenerif and also involved the Helimer 204 SAR helicopter, the Sasemar 103 aircraft and the SAR boat 'Guardamar Polimnia'. On Dec 14, the 'Guardamar Polimnia' rescued 78 migrants 97 nautuical miles south of La Restinga. The SAR boat arrived in port at 3 a.m.LT. The CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo had also mobilized the Helimer 204 SAR helicopter to assist.
