Starting March 11th, 2016 with m/v NORDIC HONG KONG loading in Khor Fakkan, the new MIDAS service pattern will allow very competitive transit times to Douala: 40 days from Khor Fakkan, 39 days from Jebel Ali, 35 days from Nhava Sheva and 32 days from Mundra. Container ship grounded off Qasim
The "Nordic Hong Kong" ran aground on Aug 30, 2015, at 0655 a.m. while leaving the ship channel of Port Qasim, and got stuck near buoy 9. At 11.45 a.m. the vessel was refloated with tug assistance. Obviously the canal’s depths were faulted by silting. The vessel left Port Qasim the same day.
