Disabled bunker tanker was threatened to run aground
The 'Grip Bunker', coming from Hestivka, suffered an engine failure at Grandefjära in Ørlandet in the afternoon of Jan 4, 2020. The trawler 'Hordafor IV' followed by the NSSR lifeboat 'Horn Flyer' came to assist the bunker tanker when it was less than 1.000 meters from the shore and just a few minutes from grounding in blustery seas. The 'Hordafor IV' took the 'Grip Bunker' in towe at 4.43 p.m. in northward direction. Also a Sea King helicopter was mobilized by the MRCC North Norway to take the crew off in case the situation worsened. At 4.54 p.m. the situation was under control. At 6 p.m. the tanker was safely berthed in Uthaug port.
Disabled tanker towed to Kiristiansund
On Oct 18, 2019, the 'Grip Bunker' suffered engine damage off Kristiansund. The NSSR boat 'Erik Bye' was called to assist at 6.30 pm. and took the tanker in tow.
