Grounding off Sylt
On June 30, 2014, the "Lambert" ran aground off Rantum/Sylt after the fishing gear got stuck on the bottom and pulled the vessel around. The master managed to avoid getting stuck on groines, but had to beach the shrimper which was unable to back off again with own power. The lifeboat "Pidder Lüng" of the DGzRS-station List was alerted by the MRCC Bremen at 12.10 p.m. and reached the grounding site short past 1 p.m. The "Lambert" was stuck between two groines, and the tide already receding. The "Pidder Lüng" moved astern towards the shrimper to be able to free itself in case of a grounding. Winds on scene were blowing from West with 3-4 Beaufort. The crew was able to connect a towing wire, having to act with great caution due to the surrounding shallows and obstructions. They managed to pull the "Lambert" off and towed the disabled ship to the port of Havneby upon Rømø island.
