Tanker allided with dolphin
The "Grand Elena", carrying 145,000 cubic metres of LNG, allided with a berth at Russia’s Sakhalin Energy project on Nov 27, 2018, at 6.30 p.m. following an engine failure The LNG carrier hit a mooring dolphin of the LNG jetty at the Prigorodnoye production complex during her departure and suffered a hole in the port side ballast tank No. 3, due to the impact. There was no water ingress into adjacent compartments. Berth No.1 for LNG shipments was closed until the morning of Nov 28 for inspection. The vessel moored at Prigorodnoye anchorage No.1. There was no pollution nor injuries reported and no impact on the production. An investigation was ongoing. The tanker sailed from Prigorodnoye on Dec 23.
