Ferry sold to Greek buyers
Gotlandsbolaget, a parent company of Destination Gotland, has sold the HSC 'Gotlandia II' to Greek buyers. The vessel will operate in the Greek archipelago.The Gotland company informed in February that the company intended to sell or charter out the 'Gotlandia II' after the operator Destination Gotland returned the vessel.
Ferry broke off its moorings
The HSC 'Gotlandia II' which operates the Nynäshamn–Visby and Oskarshamn–Visby route broke off its moorings in the port of Visby in the night of Feb 9, 2020, and drifted with its stern into the port basin. There was no one aboard at that time. The rescue service helped get crew on board the ferry so it could return to the quay. It was still unclear if the ship had suffered damage. An electrical cabinet on the quay was torn off when the ship started to move. The service Visby-Nynäshamn has been canceled in the morning of Jan 10. The ferry Nynäshamn-Visby at 11.25 a.m. was due to depart as usual, Destination Gotland worte on its website. Propulsion trouble off Visby
The "Gotlandia II", having just arrived from Nynäshamn, suffered a problem with the bow thruster propellers on June 29, 2017, off the port of Visby. One of the propellers did not start, and the ship could not enter port as scheduled at 8 p.m. At 9.15 p.m. the problems were resolved, and the ferry could finally dock in Visby.
