Trawler safe in port - vehicles carrier underway again
After its collision with the "Lake Superior" on June 27, the trawler "Talariante" reached the port of Saint Malo at 3 p.m. The port side hull was dented and damaged as well as the railing and the roof of the wheelhouse. The damage was significant. An investigation was launched by the maritime court of Brest. The Maritime Gendarmerie of Saint-Malo interrogated the six fishermen after their arrival in port. The "Lake Superior" meanwhile resumed its voyage to Conakry with an ETAas of July 5. Collision off Roscoff
On June 27, 2019 at 00:25 a.m. the CROSS Corsen was alerted by the crew of six of the trawler "Talariante - SB.907929", 111 gt, after a collision with the "Lake Superior" 50 miles north of Roscoff. The ro-ro ship was bound for Konakry after sailing from Antwerp with a crew of 23 and a cargo of more than 2400 vehicles on board. The trawler headed to the port of Saint-Malo, escorted by the trawler "Taranis" and the liefeboat "Zant Ivy - SNS 090" of the SNSM station Loguivy-de-la-mer. The convoy was expected to arrive in the port in the early afternoon. The "Lake Superior" was moving to an anchorage area near the Port of Camaret where it was expected around noon.
