On Jan 26, 2011, at 5.40 p.m. the crew of the "Zuiderkruis - GO 55" alarmed the Coast Guard that the ship had suffered machine failure in the Slijkgat. The vessel had, however, been taken in tow by the "OD 5", but the Coast Guard called the rescue boat "Antoinette" of the KNRM station Stellendam as in rough seas the towing cable was in danger of breaking. It was then decided to connect another cable at the "GO 55". Then it was possible to tow the vessel to Stellendam by the "Antoinette" where it was safely moored in the outer harbour. The "OD 5" remained on standby during the transit in case the "Zuiderkruis" would go adrift again.
