Medevac off Genova
On Aug 20, 2022, at 11:15 a.m., the 'GNV Allegra' requested medical assistance for a passenger. The ship departed from the port of Genoa en route to Porto Torres and reversed about 20 miles from the coast after the passenger showed signs of a heart attack. The patrol boat 'Cp 311' was sent to the site with medical personnel on board and intercepted the ferry about seven nautical miles from the port of Genova. After evaluating the condition, a medevac by a helicopter was decided. At 1:10 p.m. the person was hoisted and transported to the San Martino hospital.
