Wed Jul 06 19:18:50 CEST 2022 Timsen

In the morning of July 6, 2022, the 'Global King 1' with 22 crew members on board started taking on water and was in danger of sinking with a severe list to port side in the Arabian Sea about 70 nautical miles west of the northwestern coast of India, since morning Jul 6. No AIS signal was transmitted since since 02.30 a.m. UTC Jul 6 The tanker at that time had been limping with four knots speed. It had been en route from Khor Fakkan Anchorage in the Gulf of Oman, to Karwar with an ETA as of July 7. A Dornier aircraft, two indigenously-built twin-engine Advanced Light Helicopters, and two ships were involved in the SAR operation. The crew members were picked up by the choppers and ships from the sea. At 12.45 p.m. UTC the crew was reported safe.
